Shanghai Day 1!
After 14 hours and about 4 movies (The Blind Side, Lovely Bones, It’s Complicated, and fell asleep during Young Queen Victoria), I made it to Shanghai by myself! I almost missed the flight to Newark because we overslept by one hour, but we sped to the Ft. Lauderdale airport, and we made it!
I didn’t recognize my cousin, Zhao Lei when I first got out of the security at the Pudong Airport. I am so glad that he recognized my “Luo” nose though! This is the first time I am limited purely to Shanghainese and Mandarin. Let’s just say there were a lot of awkward silences.
