Day 39: Sunday at the Office
Xujiahui, Xintiandi
I was going to go to the Expo with my office, but because my entire office was busy working to deadlines, no one went to the Expo! I decided not to go either. I didn’t want to go by myself! Despite the disappointment, I went to a Dong Bei Restaurant with my coworkers, which was absolutely delicious! In the northern area of China, there is a special minority of Korean/Chinese people. I have three coworkers who are from this area, and they really love this restaurant. After there for the second time (first time was my first day at the office), I realized that I really love Dong Bei food! Not too pricey and a burst of flavors, I really enjoyed eating everything. I am definitely going back, no doubt.
Sunday + Working = Not Productive. You end up watching the rendering team arm wrestle and blast American music. It was quite interesting to see how 7-day workdays can take a huge toll. I was exhausted, but I did get a wonderful list of clubs/bars to check out in Shanghai from my coworker. With plans to go to a club/bar with my cousin, we finally decided on Club Obama.
After spending a long time at a teahouse talking about our boy woes, we headed back to my Hongqiao house. Let’s just say, we never made it to the Club Obama. Instead my cousin found a Chinese IKEA catalogue, and we spent the rest of the night talking about IKEA possibilities for my cousin’s new apartment. Haha.
I DID get to see my sister on Skype though! I have also concluded that Africa is the perfect place to go to if you want to (1) lose weight and (2) get clearer skin. The Doxycycline medication that you need to take before going to Africa clears up your skin and the food options make you SKINNIER! Ok, Africa is the next on the list.
